First Malgache Debian developer
I’ve advocated Thierry Soloniaina Randrianiriana to become the first Malgache Debian Developer:

Thierry contacted me two months ago because he’s deeply interested in Debian and because I’m the first DD to live in Madagascar.
He asked me to teach him how Debian works internally and how to make Debian packages.
After that, he has successfully built a package for qGo, a game of Go client, on his own. The qgo package has been in RFA for a while and Thierry is now willing to take it over, with upstream and current maintainer permissions. He has already contacted them and had approval.
He studied Computer Science at the Antananarivo University of Madagascar where he graduated with a diploma of “Maitrise en Informatique et Statistique Appliquees” (M.I.S.A.).
Thierry works as a computer scientist for the Ministery of the public transports of Madagascar where he spreads the Debian OS and Free Software culture in general and actively fights against commercial software solutions and especially Micro$oft.
He also makes daily systems administration of one of the only cybercafe in Madagascar which runs Debian GNU/Linux on 9 computers out of 10. The server definitively runs Debian. Thierry owns this cybercafe and built it from scratch. You can see proud Gnu and Tux logos on the outside: http://cyril.bouthors.org/cpg/thumbnails?album=3 Maybe we could see our swirl there too soon I guess. ;-)
Thierry is also remotely working for a (successful ;-)) french web hosting company where he assists webmasters with their daily PHP and MySQL issues.
Thierry will be the first Malgache into Debian if he’s successful (but I have no doubts on that topic) since I’m French.
